The Assistant Marketing and Communications Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the development and execution of marketing, e-commerce, media relations, and internal communication initiatives. This role involves collaborating closely with the Marketing Manager to ensure the successful implementation of marketing strategies and day-to-day administrative tasks.
· Assist in coordinating and delivering all agreed marketing and PR strategies, monitoring campaign performance, and providing regular reports to the Line Manager.
· Support the development and implementation of promotional activities, collateral, and in-house merchandising, while maintaining media libraries including video, film, and press coverage archives.
· Promote the hotel's marketing activities to the media, covering various aspects such as food and beverage, rooms, and event promotions.
· Assist in internal communication activities, including regional and area updates, press release writing, newsletter creation, and drafting speeches for company executives.
· Support marketing and PR activities including special events, sponsorship opportunities, merchandising campaigns, exhibitions, and property inspections.
· Assist with media relations by tracking social media, updating press kits, archiving news releases and press coverage, maintaining media databases, coordinating interviews, and completing relevant administrative duties.
· Organize and manage familiarization trips for media professionals and entertain local media where appropriate.
· Assist with on-site photo shoots and hotel filming, ensuring all administrative approvals are obtained.
· Monitor social media activity for the hotels and support departmental initiatives.
· Ensure all marketing collateral conforms to brand standards and corporate guidelines.
· Identify opportunities to grow and develop loyalty marketing activities with Hilton Honors and other booker incentive schemes.
· Implement marketing and PR content, creative resources, translation, and photography in line with regional strategy.
· Respond to customer postings, addressing complaints and issues as appropriate.
· Manage content across all available channels, including hotel websites, OTAs, social media, mobile marketing, and partnership programs.
· Develop monthly/quarterly reports on activities, highlighting results and next steps.
· Grow the hotel databases to promote all disciplines including targeted Hilton Honors campaigns.
· Stay informed of local news or stories affecting hotel business and inform management accordingly.
· Assist in developing reports on specific marketing and PR initiatives and promotions.
· Review third-party website content, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards.
· Conduct competitive analysis on hotel, food and beverage, and e-commerce marketing activities.
· Maintain marketing and PR archives and content, including media lists, press kits, collateral, and photo and video libraries.
· Support management in marketing and PR projects with budget implications.
· Assist with communications related to hotel crises and issues as directed by the Line Manager.
· Achieve agreed performance goals and objectives set out by the Line Manager.
· Establish and maintain effective rapport and open communication with all hotel departments.
· Develop strong working relationships with Hilton personnel and external stakeholders.
· Manage relationships with creative and media agencies.
· Collaborate effectively within the marketing and PR team and support hotel departments on campaigns.
· Foster positive relationships with key members of the media, community organizations, government officials, industry organizations, suppliers, and agencies.
· Demonstrate effective teamwork in all aspects of the role.
