Position: Capstones Community and Economic Development program
provides access to healthy food to our community members in various
ways, including home delivery for qualifying individuals of a variety of
staples, canned goods, dairy products, eggs, meats, fresh produce, and
other food items. Capstone is seeking a part-time Food Security Home
Delivery Driver to offer home delivery of food boxes to ensure that
people in Washington and Orange Counties who have transportation
challenges due to age or disability have access to the critical
nutritional support provided by the Food Shelf.
Qualifications: This position is ideal for a candidate looking for
meaningful part-time work serving Vermonters, and who has excellent
customer service and communication skills, the ability to work
collaboratively with a team, an understanding of Capstones mission, and
positive regard for individuals with low incomes and accessing services
for income-based needs. The Delivery Driver will regularly need to climb
stairs, and to lift and carry full food boxes and grocery bags and other
items weighing up to 50 pounds. A valid drivers license (with an
acceptable driving record), access to a personal vehicle in safe and
operable condition, and proof of vehicle insurance are also required.
Compensation & Benefits: The rate of pay offered for this part-time
position is \$20.00, with a regular schedule of 1 day per week (8
hours), and up to an additional 1.5 hours per month on an occasional
basis. The Delivery Driver position is eligible to participate in the
401(k) plan and receive employer match and has access to the Employee
Assistance Program (EAP).
