Texas State Job Bank Lead Carpenter in Bastrop, Texas

To be our lead carpenter you need to perform your job duties well, offer a superior job quality, know your equipment usage, excel at customer service and manage the team members under you as a mini owner of the company. You will report and communicate directly to the Foreman and production coordinator regarding day-to-day operations, logistics, and project status. Work alongside your team members as a lead carpenter with the emphasis on managing jobs and field personnel to assist the Foreman. This position will be required to take the lead on or assist with change in orders, coordinating material and equipment needs for projects. You will also need to be able to complete other duties in a timely, efficient, and professional manner as needed.

  • Understanding of materials, tools, and equipment required for a project

  • Ability to identify issues that might arise based on pre-construction information
  • Exceptional organization and leadership skills
  • Effective communication with team members, management, and customers
  • Be the eyes and ears for the Foreman
  • Decision making always favoring the best interest of the company, reverting back to the core values and mission statement

  • $42,000 - $65,000 plus vacation and benefits

  • Start day with team meeting to review daily expectations and review all the information for the current project
  • Coordinate personnel and tasks and prioritize job tasks
  • Then lead the layout independently or with foreman on projects as needed
  • Coordinate safety precautions including incident reporting, and any equipment or tool damage that may occur
  • Take and manage photos of projects every day as well as the quality, resulting in a clean professional looking photos suitable for marketing
  • Ensure the quality control standards meet the requirements and compile a report at the end of each job which is to be uploaded to Company Cam with associated project

We offer insurance and benefit options available after 30 days and 401k options after 1 year of service. Major Holidays are paid and additional 5 days paid vacation with the 1st year of service.
