Job Title: Project Consultant - Grant Administration

Location: Tennessee and/or Remote

Job Type: Long Term Contract

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Consultant to assist with the administration of an awarded grant in a rural area. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in grant administration, and a strong background in large deployment projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Grant Administration:

  2. Manage all aspects of grant administration, ensuring compliance with the State requirements.

  3. Prepare and submit all necessary documentation and reports as required by the grant contract.

  4. Monitor grant expenditures and ensure they align with the approved budget.

  5. Project Management:

  6. Oversee the implementation of the middle mile broadband project, ensuring timely completion within the specified term.

  7. Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met.

  8. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and risk management plans.

  9. Reporting and Documentation:

  10. Prepare periodic progress reports and a final report detailing project outcomes, successes, and challenges.

  11. Maintain accurate records of all project activities, expenditures, and communications.

  12. Ensure all project documentation is in compliance with federal and state regulations.

  13. Compliance and Auditing:

  14. Ensure all project activities comply with federal, state, and local laws, including the Capital Projects Funds (American Rescue Plan) Statement of Assurances.

  15. Prepare for and facilitate audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.

  16. Stakeholder Communication:

  17. Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications with key stakeholders.

  18. Facilitate regular meetings and updates with project stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Project Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

  • Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in grant administration, with a focus on state and federal grants.

  • Proven track record of managing large-scale broadband deployment projects.

  • Experience with grant reporting requirements

  • Skills:

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
