International School of Beijing Accounting Manager in Beijing, China


The Accounting Manager performs all duties relating to financial reporting in support of the Finance Director. This position develops and maintains accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. She/He supervises the accounting staff to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner and addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities.


· Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.

· Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.

· Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.

· Ensure the timely coverage of all monthly payments, bills and receivables reporting.

· Maintain the fixed asset inventory system by supervising the recording of all items in the inventory, maintaining pertinent records and ensuring adequate treatment of fixed asset acquisitions and retirements.

· Assist the Finance Director in maintaining internal control program

· Assist the Finance Director in the daily banking requirements.

· Monitor and analyze accounting work to develop efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

· Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of accounting function.

· Review and approve accounting transactions in the financial system, identify and correct errors, identify and compute accruals and apply accounting principles to transactions.

· Prepare and file monthly, quarterly and annual reports requested by Chinese government agencies.

· Prepare US grant application, reports and reimbursement requests

· Co-ordinate the annual financial audit including preparing financial statements which are audited.

· Respond to inquiries from divisions regarding divisional expense report.

· Prepare quarterly and annually EIT tax filing, and supervise the monthly IIT filing.

· Provide training to new and existing accounting staff as needed.

· Supervise accounting staff to establish individual goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.

· Support Finance Director with special projects and workflow process improvements.

· Perform any other duties as assigned

BA/BS or above in Finance or Business with an emphasis in Accounting, CPA required

· Thorough knowledge in financial accounting and reporting

· At least ten years of working experience in bookkeeping, financial reporting/general ledger area, and at least five years in an accounting supervisory role

· Experience working in an educational institution or professional services firm preferred.

· Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX or other large automated accounting system a plus.

· PC proficient and excellent skills with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

· Proficiency in English and Chinese languages.

· Excellent communication and organization skills.

· Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
