Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain specialized tools and software used in the calibration, testing, and operation of MRI systems.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, software developers, and clinical specialists to ensure seamless integration and functionality of MRI tools and systems.

  • Conduct system analysis to improve the performance, efficiency, and safety of MRI systems.

  • Develop and implement protocols for system validation and troubleshooting, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide technical support and training to end-users, including field engineers and clinical staff, on the proper use and maintenance of MRI tools.

  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in MRI and related fields and assess their potential application in improving system tools and processes.

  • Participate in the documentation and revision of system manuals, tool specifications, and maintenance procedures.

  • Manage projects from conception through deployment, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.

Quality Specific Goals:

  • Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position.

  • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines.

  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required.

  • Support compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before completing Design Outputs/Program Deliverables.

  • Participate in continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating process and product quality gaps, providing solutions when possible.

Basic Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in biomedical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.

  • Experience in MRI system design, tool development, or a closely related area.

  • Strong understanding of MRI physics, system hardware, and software dependencies.

  • Proficient in programming languages relevant to system tool development such as Python, MATLAB, or JAVA.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English.

Desired Qualifications

  • Ph.D in Biomedical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Physics/Chemistry or other closely related fields. 2+ years of working experience in industrial system engineering group.

  • Prior experience in the design and development of System tools for MR.

  • Experience in Data acquisition and analysis methodologies in MR is an added advantage.

  • Demonstrated experience on system design and developmental tools for MR.

  • Demonstrated skills in proactively identifying, facilitating, and driving closure of a product/program.

  • MR Systems Knowledge, PSD/System Tools experience and Experience in System Application SW integration activities for MR.

  • Good understanding of Magnetic Resonance Imaging fundamentals and working experience in GE Signa Scanners.

  • Strong knowledge on different areas of MR systems and having ability to perform system level characterization.

  • Outstanding proficiency in both spoken and written English.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.

  • Self-starter, energizing and results oriented and able to multi-task.

  • Creative problem solver and solution developer when presented with conflicting requirements, business demands and technical risks/issues.

  • External focus - Understand the customer and market and the ability to translate the opportunities into concrete actions.
