The opportunity: This is a leadership position for a technically minded individual to work with the Belfast prepress department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the prepress environment. They will work closely with the EMEA Colour Management Specialist, the Irish region Digital workflow manager, the technical service team, and the Irish region operations plate-making teams.
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:
Prepress Admin tasks
Checking artwork on a technical level, including colour separation and image retouching
Repro and manipulation of customer-supplied artworks on relevant software
Repro graphic editor best practice and best use of automated workflows
Ensuring information is available for litho kit preparation and plate-making
Creating training resources and regularly reviewing SOPs
Responsible for ensuring production is to the highest quality standards and adherence to SOP guidelines and customer requirements within the prepress team
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and charter projects in the Project Portal on Smurfit Westrock Connect
Participate in company quality programs, e.g., Internal Audits, Calibration, Gemba walks, and 5S events to identify and report problems or deviations from standards
Promote ArtPro+, a platform-independent native PDF prepress editor
Working with the broader Irish prepress team, using automated quality assurance tools in the Automation Engine environment
Improve user experience across all applications for your team.
Quality control for internal requests - perform validation of workflows/production changes using Qpulse
What you need to succeed:
Good standard of education, including English & Maths
Demonstrable experience in good teamwork and communication skills
Demonstrable experience working to high-quality standards
Proficient user of ArtPro and ArtPro+ essential
Experience with Esko Automation Engine is highly desirable.
Additionally, knowledge of WebCenter will significantly enhance the candidate's opportunities.
