Amazon Principal Product Manager, Relay Yard Automation in Bellevue, Washington

Description

Do you want to build the next-gen global transportation network through development of intelligent product platforms & tools? At Relay Yard Automation, we are looking for a Principal Product Manager who will lead the innovation, problem solving for the future of Middle Mile Transportation at Amazon Yards.

The Relay Yard Automation (RYA) team and our portfolio of products empowers Amazon associates and drivers to safely and efficiently perform their duties in the yard. Among other tech tools, our products use cutting edge real time image recognition, LiDAR tech and AWS IoT to conduct millions of transactions/ day that enable yard operations at +6.7K Amazon facilities worldwide including FCs, IXDs, SCs, DS, Air Gateways, Offsites and AMZL. RYA owns technology and experiences that power automation within Amazon yards and at gate entry. This includes Tier 1 tools used by associates to process check-in and check-out at the gate, manage inventory and status of assets, hostler movement within the yard, workflow for safe docking/undocking of trailers, and a platform for communicating instructions and updates to drivers. Our charter is to ensure safety and efficiency in all yard operations using sensory intelligence and automation to eliminate effort, improve experience for drivers and associates. Our north star is a fully automated yard that is labor-efficient for Amazon, space-efficient for yard and time-efficient for drivers.

Key job responsibilities

  • End-to-end ownership of requirements gathering, documentation, planning, and implementation of cost-effective solutions for Amazon transportation network

  • Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally across multiple teams in operations, technology and planning to define strategic roadmaps while keeping the impact of the solution to all stakeholders in mind

  • Creating and implementing data driven decision recommendations and improvements to Amazon's transportation network that deliver flexible and efficient products for our customers

  • Designing and implementing feedback mechanisms to drive performance and cost improvement in processes

  • Ability to deep dive and do root-cause analysis using data, and create metrics-driven, actionable, and sustainable solutions for the future

  • Monitor key performance indicators across nodes and analyze their drivers to determine the level and type of engagement required based on the risk to customer experience and utilization of technology.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of blending product and program management skills to execute strategic initiatives about process creation, standardization, and improvement experience

  • Master's degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of end to end product delivery experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $145,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $240,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
