As a Principal and Project Manager in Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering, a primary role will be leading teams in traffic engineering and operations. Projects may include alternatives analysis, high capacity transit corridors, traffic signals, interchange evaluation, and safety analysis. Project Managers are expected to be proficient in micro-simulation modeling and travel demand forecasting. You will support traffic engineering and analysis in final design projects including signing and pavement marking, maintenance of traffic, lighting, and ITS design.

Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering leaders are expected to offer project and team leadership through technical direction and mentoring. You will have the opportunity to participate in new project pursuits and client development. The base salary range for this position is $121,300 to $212,200. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations [add if remote]. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Here’s what you’ll need :

· BS in Engineering with a focus in Transportation/Traffic engineering discipline

· At least 15 years of professional experience in Traffic Engineering and Transportation Planning

· Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, communication and organizational skills

· Experience preparing technical reports, impact studies, alternatives analysis, feasibility studies, specifications and/or estimates to state and local standards

· Experience working with WSDOT and Puget Sound region municipalities and transit agencies

· Proficiency with Traffic analysis software such as Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM, HCS, and/or HSM. Ability to enhance current software skills.

· Experience with one or more transportation modeling software packages including Visum, Vissim, TransCAD, Synchro, HCS, and/or other software.

· Knowledge of Highway Capacity Manual, MUTCD, and HSM

· Experience with one or more analysis/ programming languages such as Python or R.

· Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and management, and thrive in a team environment.

· Proficiency with MS Office and other typical business software

Ideally, you’ll also have:

· Professional Engineer License in Washington, or ability to obtain reciprocal license

· PTOE Certification

· Experience in business development and mentoring staff

· Knowledge of traffic signals and signal systems

· Proficiency in Open Roads Designer (ORD), Microstation, and AutoCAD platforms

· Experience with Intelligent Transportation Systems for DOT and municipal clients
