Amazon Senior Program Manager, Air Strategic Initiatives, AIR Supply Chain and Analytics in Bellevue, Washington

Amazon Air is looking for a Senior Program Manager (Sr. PM) with excellent leadership skills and a strong record of delivering results who will own and execute strategic, ambiguous, and cross-functional projects across the Global AIR network. The team is comprised of leaders who are passionate about building the roadmap to enable Amazon Air to scale the business, drive innovation, and accelerate sustainability. The Sr. PM will enable implementation of Program Management Office (PMO) best practices, scope large projects, track project timelines, and develop mechanisms for communicating to senior management on status, risks, and business challenges. The Sr. PM will own implementing and governing a common set of PMO processes and supporting tools for managing the AIR portfolio of high visibility programs to enable efficient operating rhythm of the AIR organization including: managing executive business reviews, cross-team coordination, project management, executive presentation, management of project scope, and granular focus on project financials. The ideal candidate has:

  • Proven ability to lead and develop cross-functional project teams responsible for global business-impacting projects

  • High proficiency in written and oral communications and ability to "produce well written documents" and presentations to leaders

  • High attention to detail, including proven ability to manage competing priorities, simultaneously

  • Demonstrated ability to influence internal and external organizations to achieve corporate goals, including the ability to influence upward as necessary

  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically

  • Demonstrated ability to dig into potential risks and develop mitigation plans

Key job responsibilities

  • Managing cross-functional project teams, and planning/organizing/executing complex projects across multiple organizations (Operations, Tech, Finance, Third Party Vendors, etc.) to enable the launch of new products and processes

  • Partnering with key functional stakeholders across the company to lead, support, and influence new business initiatives

  • Building strong partnerships with operational leaders to identify the impact of new business initiatives and successfully integrate and deploy them within the four walls and on the road

  • Innovating to improve project scope/execution to improve customer outcomes, reduce sustainability impact, and decrease the end-to-end supply chain cost

  • Escalating risks in the project plan to the relevant owners and teams

  • Navigating through ambiguity; managing and coordinating multiple project assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, accepting ownership and accountability of the cross-functional processes, and delivering on commitments

  • Tracking end-to-end project status and incorporating new metrics to transition the project to the normal operations

  • Owning the planning, organizing, and execution of complex projects across multiple organizations and stakeholders including development of PMO processes

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree

  • Experience working in a matrixed organization

  • Experience in complex problem solving, and working in a tight schedule environment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
