Eaton’s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Production Supervisor - 3rd Shift. This position is located at our Beltsville, MD location and will be third shift (11PM-730/8AM)

The expected annual salary range for this role is $105225.03 - $154330.04 a year.

What you’ll do:

The Production Supervisor – 3rd Shift is responsible for directing the daily activities and development of approximately 20-40 hourly employees while also acting as the operations leader within the integrated process team, which includes manufacturing engineering, quality control, human resources, and materials and logistics. This person is responsible for driving operational excellence and building organizational capability to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Cost and Culture objectives.

In this function you will:

  • Drive a culture of trust and accountability with hourly team members through clearly defined expectations, continuous feedback, coaching, and appropriate escalation.

  • Attract, retain, and develop hourly team members through encouraging a flexible, high performing workforce.

  • Partner with team leads to coordinate daily manufacturing schedules and priorities within the production plan to satisfy and exceed customer requirements around delivery and quality.

  • Champion continuous improvement efforts by standardizing processes, engaging employees in problem solving, and driving daily accountability.

  • Partner with customer account representatives to ensure proactive customer communication and focus on delivering on our commitments.

  • Champion a Safety Culture through using MESH tools, safety best practices, and empowering all employees to take responsibility for their own and others’ safety.

  • Forecast production capacity and provide insight into monthly cross-functional reviews of financial and operational planning.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing OR bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of 3 years.

  • 1+ year of leadership experience.

  • Candidate must be legally authorized to work in United States without company sponsorship.

  • All positions require use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms regulations. All applicants must be U.S. Persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. Person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) of the Beltsville facility will be considered.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

  • 2+ years of experience as manager of people.

  • 3+ years of experience in Manufacturing in Aerospace.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of basic manufacturing processes as well as lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.

  • Driver of change and propensity for innovation.

  • Ability to convey information effectively to multiple diverse stakeholder groups at different levels of the organization.

  • Ability to develop a strong cross-functional network in order to influence others to get results.

  • Ability to evaluate an individual’s performance and provide effective coaching in order to aide employee development.

  • Ability to evaluate competing interests from different stakeholders, establish priorities, resolve conflicts, and make high quality decisions.

  • Ability to understand and process business and financial data in order to identify opportunities as well as effectively convey to other stakeholders.

  • Ability to periodically flex work hours to provide weekend supervision.
