Business Analyst
(Band 3)

The Position:
The Business Analyst role is be located in the Portfolio Optimization and Execution (POE) organization, specifically the POE team serving the Global Individual Health (GIH) portfolio.
The primary focus of this role will be to work with key stakeholders at all levels across a breadth of Business and Technology functions. You will have a natural analytical way of thinking and be comfortable with detail light concepts that you progress to detailed artefacts off which material decisions are taken. You will have experience facilitating complex sessions to solicit key data points you then clearly document. Your outputs will form primary traceability and be viewed as single source truth. This activity will be applied at different stages of delivery.
An early stage in delivery life cycle is identified as epic analysis. At that stage this role helps progress business ideas, thoughts and hypothesis and build out detailed documents all stakeholders can reference and establish a levelled understanding. This will include but not limited to production of; scope requirement documents, customer experience maps, gap & options analysis, process flows, problem statements and sequence diagrams to assist in the wider understanding of the delivery. An example of the materiality of these outputs is solution architects will reference your outputs to design solutions. Using your proactive and solution-oriented mindset, you will collaborate with business requestors, SMEs, solutions architects, business systems analysts, product managers and product owners. The role requires a team player mindset.
During solution development this role can connect in and take responsibilities supporting testing implementation and all Business readiness activity. You may, from time to time be asked to support additional activities relating to a deliverable including the generation of content for training.
The Business analyst will be required to facilitate key meetings/workshops ensuring detailed minutes, decisions, actions with owners are successfully documented ensuring traceability and auditability. You may from time to time be asked to develop content and participate in Steering committees.
You will have a good understanding of Waterfall and Agile methodologies, as well being well versed in Business Analyst practices.
The role is hybrid (home/office) working and reports to the GIH portfolio lead.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
Plan and lead decomposition of the change epic working closely with a range of stakeholders.
Create the primary source documentation all involved reference to understand the ‘WHAT’.
Supports the analysis of obtained data to identify solutions, trends, opportunities and issues.
Build an extensive knowledge of the business being served.
Collaborate with Business and Technology partners in order to achieve future optimal design
Lead Business partners in developing user acceptance test approach and test cases
Investigate, evaluate and report alternative solutions to Business needs and recommend the preferred solutions
Experience/Qualifications Required:
The suitable candidate must have strong experience in the following areas:
Prior experience working in scaled agile for enterprise framework and or experience working in more traditional waterfall project settings.
Ability to demonstrate awareness of Project management techniques, methodologies & lifecycle and show in-depth knowledge of industry standard Business Analyst techniques including process modelling, root cause analysis, use case models, change control and traceability management
Experience and understanding of delivering Business & Technology change and supporting Programmes in an Agile framework (e.g. SAFe, Scrum), as well as the use of JIRA / ADO boards would be beneficial.
Proven planning, problem solving skills, organisational and attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts. Bi-lingual is a nice to have but not essential for this role
Strong negotiation, influencing and excellent communication skills are a must have to effectively interact with Business and Technology stakeholders at all levels
The ability to demonstrate skill and experience in the review and interpreting of complex policy and procedures and Business requirements
Experience in managing Business Readiness
Experienced in the analysis and interpretation of Business requirements and or data across all aspects of transacting insurance or financial services Business
Disciplined in the management of RAID, change, defect tracking and reporting
Must be a self-starter who is able to plan and lead work sessions with little oversight
High level of competency using Microsoft Office applications as well as Microsoft Project and visio
