This is a unique opportunity to advance your career as the Department Head of Mechanics within our Image Guided Therapy (IGT System) business.

This BU is responsible for marketing, development and manufacturing of X-ray systems in the area of cardiac and vascular medical diagnosis and intervention (e.g. balloon angioplasty and stent procedures). Customers are interventional specialists, in the cardiology and radiology domain operating in hospitals across the globe.

Your role:

As a Department Manager, you are responsible for the talent management, way of working, engagement and output of the team. You lead and manage the teams within the allocated budget, on time and with the highest level of quality. The work is based on a product and technology roadmap, covering studies, new product introductions, product maintenance activities, quality improvements and advanced field support.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Lead a mechanics department of 20 engineers and designers, ensuring their skill development and technical leadership.

  • Drive process improvements to optimize efficiency and comply with regulations.

  • Ensure successful product introduction and maintenance for both existing and new products.

  • Develop technology roadmaps for user interfaces, monitor suspensions, cabinets, and accessories, in alignment with stakeholders.

  • Manage relationships with external suppliers and customers, and internal teams like Supplier Quality, Operations, Customer Services, Procurement, Quality, Innovation, and Marketing, contributing to sourcing strategy and supplier management.

You’re a right fit if:

  • Master degree or higher in mechanics-, mechatronics, industrial design or equivalent;

  • Experience in leading a team in a mechanics environment

  • Experience in a medical regulated environment, testing, and quality assurance is a plus;

  • Knowledge and experience of international standards (e.g. FDA regulatory, IEC 62304, IEC60601, ISO13485, ISO14971);

  • Abstract, analytical and creative thinker with helicopter view. You drive (out-of-the-box) solutions to complex problems. Organizational talent and ready to take responsibility;

  • Improvement attitude, is a leader by leading through example.
