St. Luke's University Health Network Outreach Account Manager (Customer/Client Relations) - Bethlehem, PA in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

The Account Manager is responsible for managing accounts (provider, community, Outreach, etc) as it relates to Lab Services, maintaining a long-term relationship with accounts and maximizing sales/growth opportunities for the St. Luke’s University Health Network Lab/Outpatient Lab Services department. The Account Manager will represent the Network in their effort to build and enhance the laboratory outreach relationship with area physicians and other healthcare provider facilities. The Account Manager will develop a keen understanding of the needs of area healthcare providers as they relate to their interactions with St. Luke’s entities via personal visits. When not making personal visits, the Account Manager will maintain contact with healthcare providers and/or office managers through telephone contact and electronic messaging.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops business relationships with SLUHN clients providing laboratory support for technical questions, new test/service education, problem resolution and service delivery.

  • Participates in new business development, coordinating with laboratory outreach strategic business plans. Develops new business by analyzing account potential, initiating, developing, and closing contracts, recommending new opportunities and sales strategies.

  • Responsible for on boarding of new St. Luke’s physician practices and independent physician practices (related to Laboratory Services).

  • Acts as the key interface between the customer and laboratory operations. Monitors test & patient volumes from clients and responds to promote use of St. Luke’s laboratory services.

  • Maintains an overall understanding of the needs of each hospital campus laboratory, healthcare facilities, and the Patient Service Centers supporting physician and patient needs for laboratory services.

  • Maintains an overall understanding of the needs of community/outreach customer needs for laboratory services and support customer requirements (ex., reporting/data analysis, workflow/process development, resource engagement, problem solving, etc.)

  • Works with the Outpatient Lab Regional Managers to coordinate staffing, training, and technical support community and outreach needs. Works with the Outpatient Lab Regional Managers to conduct and analyze client satisfaction surveys.

  • Maintains working knowledge of network IT/patient management systems (EPIC, etc).

  • Provides education on outreach clients to the laboratory operations group.

  • Maintains accurate and complete records of all meetings and correspondence as well as schedules for client visits.

  • Identifies process improvement opportunities and contributes to improvement initiatives. Ability to gather and analyze data for performance improvement.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to sit for at least 4 hours at a time. Must be able to stand for up to 4 hours per day. Must be able to walk 3 hours per day. Must be able to drive 4 hours per day. Must be able to hear as it relates to normal conversation. Must be able to see as it relates to general and near vision.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.

Minimum of 4 years of job-related experience in the health care industry (If Bachelor's degree is in progress will consider candidates that meet the experience requirement as well contingent on degree completion within 36mo of hire.)

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong account management and relationship building skills required

  • Strong written & verbal communications & presentation skills (with various levels within Network incl. Sr. leadership) required

  • Strong organizational & time management skills required

  • Previous experience in managing accounts and sales is preferred.

  • Strong critical thinking skills required

  • Must possess self initiative, good problem-solving skills, and negotiating abilities required.

  • Intermediate skill level using MS Office software suite (Excel, powerpoint, Outlook, Word) required

  • EPIC knowledge/experience preferred

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision required
