Yellowstone County is seeking an Election Temporary Worker to provide assistance to the public in registering to vote; provides clerical and administrative assistance to the county election office; does related work as required.
Hours vary depending on need. Generally, hours will be between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Split shifts between 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. or 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. are available. Extended and overtime hours may be required before, during, and after election dates within the county
Examples of Duties:
- Provides customer service to voters on behalf of the Election Office in person, via telephone, and online.
- Maintains voter registration files, entering new information as received.
- Assists with moving office records, materials, and supplies.
- Receives and responds to public requests for department-related information.
- Processes incoming mail and prepares outgoing mailings.
- Verifies signatures on petitions.
- Performs related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Registered Yellowstone County voter.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Desired:
- Experience in the use of multi-phone lines, customer service tasks, and the maintenance of records and files beneficial.
- Previous clerical/secretarial experience.
