We are currently seeking an Operations Manager for our Birmingham Service Centre to spearhead efficiency, productivity, and operational excellence. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our engineering workshop and ensuring the highest standards in service, repair, and overhaul activities.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
Lead and manage the daily operations of our engineering workshop, with a primary focus on driving efficiency and operational excellence.
Establish and uphold rigorous quality control measures to maintain the highest standards in our service, repair, and overhaul processes.
Advocate for health, safety, and environmental initiatives, ensuring a secure and compliant working environment. Implement and monitor safety protocols.
Supervise and motivate the workshop team, fostering a positive and collaborative work culture. Manage recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, particularly focusing on implementing Lean methodologies.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
Previous managerial experience, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing setting.
Demonstrated success in driving operational excellence.
Proven ability to lead individuals through transformative processes.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Results-oriented mindset with a commitment to high standards.
Commercial awareness, with the ability to distinguish between good and bad business practices.
Understanding of Profit and Loss (P&L) financials and budgetary management.
Adaptability to an ever-changing set of demands, as our industry operates without fixed parameters.
Ability to think creatively and adapt solutions to meet customer needs.
Capability to serve as a focal point for customer interactions, ensuring their needs are met effectively.
