Kuehne+Nagel Sea Logistics Operational Care Specialist in Birmingham, United Kingdom

We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join our Sea Logistics team as Import Operational Care Specialist at our Birmingham Branch (Revenue Care). This role is vital to ensuring the smooth coordination of customer shipments and the accurate, timely update of key milestones within our operational system. Your Role

As an Import Operational Care Specialist (Revenue Care), you will be an integral part of our Operational Care Centre (OCC). You will handle the timely processing of tasks using excel reports and the financial system (ACON) ensuring all costing and gross profit (GP) are accurately managed. Your primary responsibilities will checking and actioning open operational files whilst maintaining seamless communication with Customer Care Specialists within the Customer Care Locations (CCL). You will play a critical role in managing the flow of information between various teams and external stakeholders to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with our high standards.

Your Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely closing of the ledgerfinancial platform for all files (FSL), coordination with costing, billing(OCC), and CCL teams to resolve discrepancies;

  • Perform timely and accurate recognitionof revenue, reviewing all files to ensure proper procedures and guidelinesare followed to capture gross profit for deadlines end of month/year;

  • Ensureaccurate gross profit for all contracted freight and UK charges;

  • Maximisegross profit on every shipment by ensuring correct profit share and salesquotation is linked on every shipment file;

  • Monitor and address discrepancies withcarrier invoices, escalating, as necessary;

  • Raise freight and additional chargeinvoices to our customers when required;

  • Report/reviewing data using excel.Ability to analyse data with a view to maximizing profitability on joblevel and identifying areas for improvement on supplier and customer level;

  • Serveas a key contact for the services within your scope;

  • Engagein regular communication with Customer Care Locations, other OCCdepartments, Kuehne + Nagel offices overseas, and suppliers, buildingstrong relationships.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Experiencein either freight forwarding or transport planning preferably with thefocus on sea freight

  • Experience in bookkeeping or finance

  • Experience in Import Operations as well in processing data and task based work is advantageous

  • Abilityto understand and execute new processes

  • Excellentknowledge of MS office features, especially excel

  • Understand& respect the company confidentiality and compliance regulations (Codeof Conduct)

  • Strongaffinity with required customer quality standards

  • Understandingof Incoterms, shipment types and methods

  • Very good time management skills with the ability to setpriorities, fulfil critical tasks in time and keep to deadlines
