Job Description Summary

The Services EHS Coordinator is responsible for providing day-to-day EHS support for Services sites in our Hydro Power business division in the Iberia-Middle East sub-region.

Job Description

Key responsibilities/essential functions include:

  • Act as support liaison for assigned Sub-Region in helping comply with GEV EHS programs & requirements.

  • Conduct regular site EHS inspections with rigor and consistency, identifying deficiencies and ways of improvements. Be a solution maker for assigned sites.

  • Conduct Site EHS visit to check site EHS conditions and coach the site teams as needed in site EHS Plan implementation and problem solving.

  • Provide a daily support to Operational People from Iberia-Middle East.

  • Close follow-up of the leading KPI providing his/her on-site experience.

  • Deliver EHS training to assigned sites population as required.

  • Support the Services EHS Coordinators in GEV EHS process implementation (e.g. EHS Cultural program, chemicals Safety database, contractor safety, flooding emergency preparedness)

  • Identify, share best practices across the Sub-Region. Support site teams to leverage best practice from others.

  • Support increased use of Digital Programs and tools across assigned sites, aligned with Hydro Global.

  • Contribute to investigations and analysis of all accidents or hazardous situations. Identify trends and causes, as well as follow up on corrective and preventative actions.

  • Ensure all internal and external EHS reporting is completed on time and with accuracy.

  • Lead the ISO 14001 accreditation across his/her region.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field

  • 5+ years EHS experience, with exposure to several EHS areas in a Projects or Services environment.

  • Ability to travel up to 50%, as required.

  • Fluent in English and Spanish

Desired Characteristics

  • Knowledge of Energy business & Hydro will be appreciated.

  • Additional languages (German, French, etc.) will be a plus.

  • Strong on-site EHS experience.

  • Strong leadership and influencing skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple issues with competing priorities.

  • High energy, self-starter.

  • Practical experience in risk elimination and project management.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
