The Assessment Product team, within Pearson’s School Assessment organization, strives to create Pearson flagship assessments and tools to support and engage students, families, and educators as they make progress in teaching and learning. The Project Manager will work closely with Assessment Product team members to support key aspects of delivering on the Pearson Assessment for Learning Suite (PALS) of measurement products. This role will require strong coordination, communication, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
Product Strategy
Support PALS product managers with customer forums, focus groups, surveys, and interviews, as needed. Support documentation to inform future additions to roadmaps.
Drive long-term development asset planning and execution.
Project, Administrative and Customer Support
Work collaboratively with the product team’s leadership, management, content, technology, implementation support, and sales functional teams.
Assist with developing project plans, timelines, schedules, and budgets.
Help resolve schedule delivery challenges.
Identify issues, manage escalations, follow through on long-term resolutions.
Identify cost savings and process improvements opportunities in supported project activities.
Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques to monitor the progress of the project, identify and quantify any variances (scope and costs), perform any required corrective actions, and communicate results to all stakeholders.
Serve as a point-of-contact to internal resources and internal teams for day-to-day activities as assigned. Be responsive and timely in responding to questions and requests.
Ensure item and test specifications adhere to the content and test development procedures needed to implement assessment solutions.
Troubleshoot item and test development technical issues and lead team in mitigating issues for the future.
Work with product team to create agendas and minutes for internal and external meetings and to record and manage action items with assigned owners.
Document, update, and maintain procedures and specifications as assigned.
Assist in the development of presentations, reports, and other project materials.
Assist content teams with workflow management, asset tracking, metadata management, and/or external partner communication, as assigned.
Create and manage access for folder directories shared sites, and other internal and external user accounts.
Budget Management
Oversee the vendor statement of work creation and tracking process across PALS products.
Serve as point-of-contact for setting up PALS contractors, routing invoices, and tracking payments against budget.
Oversee project budgets.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work across PALS product teams to support Pearson’s strategy.
Maintain product documentation for team members outside of the Assessment Product organization.
Provide support for planning internal team meetings, customer meetings, and business unit events.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree is required.
3 years K-12 educational product or project management or related experience required.
Experience with vendor management, creation of statements of work, organizing handoffs, and tracking invoicing preferred.
Highly detailed-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet daily deadlines.
Outstanding oral and written communication skills required.
Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills, and ability to coordinate multiple activities and adapt to unexpected events required.
Skill in evaluating, creating and/or providing input on project schedules and process documents required.
Broad knowledge of common software programs, strong technology skills, and the confidence necessary to work with unfamiliar projects required.
