Our work depends on Mechanic (General) joining our team to aid the Warfighter in an impactful mission this will require the Mechanic (General) will provide sustainment maintenance and perform periodic PMCS maintenance on all types of Elevated Sensors generators ranging in size from 2kW to 100k.
How you will make an impact to the mission as a Mechanic (General):
Performs operational checks, induction and return to service inspections, troubleshoot faults, remove, and replace components, service generators, remove and replace fluids, adjust and alignments, use hand tools and electronic measuring devices such as AC/DC voltmeters and, ohms meters
Read, understand, and follow technical manuals, engineering documents, schematic diagrams, safety bulletins, and news flashes; be able to input data into databases and be able to retrieve data to perform maintenance or provide reports as requested
Skilled generator mechanic with knowledge of diesel engines with the ability to perform engine repairs
Electrical troubleshooting and relay logic
Test current, ohms, voltage as well as complete a proper load test in a safe manner
Repair and /or replace damaged parts on generators
Service generators with oil changes
Updates applicable maintenance databases, and informs Lead of job status and any issues encountered
Tracks and updates work orders to include the replacement of parts’ component serial numbers removed and replaced
May travel via military/commercial conveyances to outlying areas
Ability to generate/produce data and reports
Interact and professionally exhibit customer service skills and be able to present a positive approach with customers and peers
Ability to multi-task, prioritize commitments, and manage time effectively including attention to detail
Must travel travel to all locations in SWA that IBD-SS supports as required to support the misson
Other duties as assigned by IBD-SS leadership
What you will need to succeed:
BA/BS + 5-8 years relevant experience (12 years’ experience in lieu of a degree)US Secret Security Clearance Required
Must be willing to support up to an 84-hour Extended Work Week or work week assigned to PDY or TDY work week based on mission requirements including travel within SWA as required
Must be capable of meeting standards of fitness for deployment to the SWA of Operations yearly while residing on contract in SWA and be able to withstand physical demands of seasonal hot or cold temperatures and willing to live and operate in an austere environment with the ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment and may travels via military/commercial conveyances to outlying areas to support mission
Must be willing to support up to an 84-hour Extended Work Week
Possesses a US passport that will not expire for at least 2 or more years and must have at least 4 consecutive blank pages for country visas
Relevant and recent experience supporting Force Protection systems is highly desirable
Experience utilizing COLTS (or similar such as RCLS) and operating within the GCSS-A environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel
Import/Export (ITAR/EXIM) compliance experience
Experience in a rapid paced, time sensitive, high-quality environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills along with strong customer service
Must have required PPE equipment required for SWA
Travel and PDY locations may include but not limited to boat, convoy etc.
