*Primary Function:\
*Provide engineered solutions by researching technologies, analyzing
inputs, evaluating results, recommending solutions, following
fabrications, testing equipment and installing solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviews client provided technical data, determines information gaps,
and establishes design schedules and engineering estimates.
- Determines functional requirements for equipment and systems
designs.
- Reviews and applies applicable codes and regulations for designs.
- Research technologies, analyzes design inputs, create engineering
models, evaluate technical options and prepares design reports.
- Ensure the manufacturability and seamless assembly of products
through meticulous stack-up analysis, GD&T, and collaboration with
manufacturing.
- Prepares technical manuals and test procedures.
- Participates on design teams and work with other engineers,
designers, drafters, crafts, customers, outside support services,
and end users.
- Collaborate closely with electrical and controls engineers to
seamlessly integrate electronic and senor platforms into mechanical
designs.
- Interfaces with sub-tier engineering groups to ensure adherence to
client design requirements.
- Participates in peer design reviews.
- Provides technical support for Project Managers, Quality Assurance
Department, and Production Department.
- Provides thought leadership and guidance to others in the
Engineering Department. Serves as departmental lead, mentor, and
final reviewer.
- Adheres to strict Quality Assurance programs including NQA-1,
completes Commercial Grade Dedications of products and services, and
supports client audits.
- Evaluates field installations and recommends design modifications to
eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
- Participates in engineering community activities that support the
engineering profession and enhance Premier Technologys goal of
community involvement. These activities include, but are not limited
to, support of university senior engineering projects, career fairs,
and high school science and math activities such as FIRST Robotics
or Mathcounts.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer with 10+ years of experience,
holds a Masters degree in mechanical engineering, or related field
- Possession of a current Secret clearance and eligibility for a
Top-Secret clearance is preferred.
- Solid grasp of fundamental mechanical design principles,
encompassing areas such as statics, dynamics, and materials science.
- Skilled in conducting thermal and structural analysis to validate
design integrity.
- Familiarity with pipe/vessel stress codes and standards, including
ASME - B31.1, B31.3, and ASME BPVC Section VIII, is highly valued.
- Explore innovative design solutions and conduct thorough research
for projects spanning R&D and low-volume production.
- Proficiency in developing component-level qualification tests and
ability to validate system requirements effectively is a plus.
- Working knowledge or experience with control systems, PLC logic, and
vision systems is preferred.
- Experience in designing for manufacturability is highly desirable.
- Works independently and/or collaboratively on projects
- A specialist on complex technical projects and business matters,
considered an expert in one or more engineering special ies.
