Futaba North America provides management support to its automotive parts
production companies in North America. The Futaba Group leverages its
core technologies such as stamping and welding to create value added
products that are in line with the needs of consumers, deliver peace of
mind, and promote environmental initiatives that contribute towards a
sustainable society.
We are looking for a talented Quality Manager to establish and implement
quality policies, procedures, and quality management systems that meet
product quality objectives, customer commitments, and regulatory
requirements. This headquarters role has three (3) direct reports and is
located in Bloomingdale, IL. Major responsibilities are as follows:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Quality function.
- Establish and maintain quality assurance policies, standards,
procedures, and internal controls to meet the intent of IATF 16949.
- Evaluate and recommend necessary inspection and test equipment
required for all phases of production from incoming inspection
through inspection of finished goods.
- Ensure completion of preventative maintenance and repairs of
laboratory instrumentation.
- Plan, layout, and assign work. Hire, train, monitor, discipline,
evaluate, and develop employees.
- Develop and implement various inspection and testing procedures.
Establish and maintain quality control records including charts,
statistical analyses, and reports.
- Reduce defects and prevent reoccurrence through root cause analysis
and problem solving.
- Monitor employees activities, provide technical assistance, and
assist with determining causes for faulty work, failure to maintain
quality, excessive scrap, or rejects.
- Implement counter measures to remediate quality variations.
- Develop job qualifications, performance standards, training
standards, and SOPs.
- Enforce organizational policies, SOPs, GMPs, safety rules, and good
housekeeping procedures.
- Provide quality training to department and plant employees.
- Develop annual Quality Improvement Plan and support Total Quality
Improvement efforts.
- Interface with internal auditors, third party auditors, and
regulatory agencies. Coordinate inspection and audit preparations
and ensure implementation of corrective action plans.
- Interact with customers, investigate quality complaints, resolve
issues, and communicate corrective and preventative action plans.
- Conduct and document annual Mock Recall. Ensure controls are in
place to provide full traceability for components and finished
product lot in the event of a supplier or customer product recall.
- Prepare and present reports on the status of Quality Audit programs
to plant and corporate management.
- Develop and adhere to departmental budget. Control variances.
- Provide technical assistance to customers. Ensure customer
requirements are met and customers are satisfied.
- Interface with Supply Chain, Production, Engineering, and across the
organization to improve costs and efficiencies.
- Maintain communications with manager and quality team on progress,
issues, delays, and other pertinent information.
- Develop technical manuals and maintain related project documents and
files.
- Travel to our manufacturing facilities in North America and to
customers and suppliers sites is required.
- Annual visits to Futaba Japan to meet with Futaba QA and Best
Practices.
- Maintain professional currency n technical knowledge and relevant
products, services, and marketplace developments.
- Comply with company policies and procedures and safety and
housekeeping requirements.
- Performed other projects and duties as assigned.
