Kinesiology invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track
Assistant Professor faculty position in Exercise or Sport Science
(including, but not limited to: Data Analytics, Kinesiology, Exercise
Science, Sport Science, Exercise Physiology, Motor Control,
Biomechanics, Exercise Psychology, or Rehabilitation Science). The
successful applicant will make significant contributions in research,
seek funding consistent with the rank and responsibilities of the
position, and have the ability to provide undergraduate/graduate
instruction in the area of their expertise. Additional responsibilities
include providing service to the university, community, and profession
along with directing doctoral and master\'s thesis research projects.
This position is location-specific to the Boise State University campus,
in Boise, Idaho. The start date for this position is August, 2025.
Department overview:
The Department of Kinesiology is dedicated to advancing knowledge of
lifelong health, physical activity, and sport through excellence in
teaching, innovative research, and high impact service. The Department
of Kinesiology employs 19 full-time faculty, a team of dedicated adjunct
faculty, and three professional staff members. Currently, the department
services over 900 undergraduate and graduate students through
undergraduate programs in Kinesiology and K-12 Physical Education and
Health, graduate programs in Athletic Leadership (MAL), Athletic
Training (MAT), Kinesiology (MK and MS-non thesis and thesis tracks, and
transdisciplinary Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering (a collaboration
between Colleges of Engineering and Health Sciences, with curriculum
tracks in biomechanics, human performance, and mechanobiology). Further,
curriculum in Kinesiology supports the neuroscience program, in
conjunction with biology and psychology, that presents additional
collaborative opportunities. Idaho is an NIH IDeA state, and Boise State
University participates in IDeA programs, operating two Centers of
Biomedical Research Excellence (COBREs); one in cellular and molecular
research and one devoted to development of biomedical devices. In
addition, the state of Idaho also has an INBRE that offers wonderful
opportunities for students. Kinesiology is also active in the Center for
Biomechanics and Orthopaedic Research and the Center for the Study of
Aging.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctorate in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or closely related
field.
- Demonstrate active research agenda including publications, grants,
and presentations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-doctoral research experience in kinesiology or a closely
related field
- Prior mentorship of graduate or undergraduate students in research
- Evidence of successful teaching at the college/university level

Salary and Benefits:
The proposed annual salary range for this position is \$70,000-\$75,000.
Startup packages are commensurate with experience and expected research
needs. The opportunity for reduced course loads is available based on
scholarly activity. Additionally, some summer courses are available. One
3-credit summer course is compensated at 9% of a faculty member\'s
9-month salary (3% per credit hour). Additionally, funds are available
for travel to conferences and other academic activities.
Our standard faculty contract is a 9-month contract (unless otherwise
noted) with pay and benefits spread over 12 months. This is a yearly,
renewable contract unless noted that the position is temporary. More
