R1 RCM Software Engineering Manager in Boise, Idaho

As our Software Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers that will build and maintain a new AI coding product for internal use. Every day you will drive, guide, and mentor your team to grow their careers and develop the next generation of leaders at R1.

Here’s what you will experience working as a Software Engineering Manager:

  • Lead the technical development and delivery of new technologies and techniques that can improve our overall platform performance and ultimate customer experience.

  • Mentor and grow leadership within your teams (both leads and potentially other managers.)

  • Provide technical leadership in the evaluation, conceptualization, design, and development of major new capabilities.

  • Provide strong technical expertise in application architecture.

  • Oversee the quality of the code and products throughout the entire development lifecycle.

  • Drive for continuous improvement in performance, scalability, extensibility, reliability, usability, and availability of the platform.

  • Leverage agile methodology concepts for quality, delivery, and continuous improvement.

  • Partner with business stakeholders, product managers, and other engineering leadership to create and maintain a digital roadmap.

  • Coach, develop, and encourage career development for engineering managers and staff.

  • Coordinates and delivers performance reviews.

To be successful in this role, the candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent training/relevant experience) in fields that include strong coverage of applied mathematics and statistics, computer science, engineering, or related fields.

  • 6+ years of experience as a software engineer building products/services from scratch within a .Net framework

  • 2+ years of experience working within healthcare with a proven track record of delivering impactful solutions and leading teams

  • Capability to develop technology professionals with high expectations, a collaborative style, and a focus on continuous improvement, quality, and planning

  • Understanding of modern software development methodologies including version control, unit testing, and continuous deployment

  • Capable of acting as a technical subject matter expert: helping fellow engineers, demonstrating technical expertise, and engaging in solving problems

For this US-based position, the base pay range is $124,200.00 - $165,732.00 per year . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
