Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity within the IT Hardware industry for a Cable Technician. The position will be based in Boston, Massachusetts, with occasional travel required to other sites.
Responsibilities:
• Operating and maintaining network systems, including broadband and VoIP.
• Installing and configuring cable modems, cable assemblies, and coax cable.
• Working with CAT5 and CAT6 cabling, including structured cabling.
• Handling low voltage and Ethernet cabling tasks.
• Efficiently installing and managing network cabling.
• Collaborating with other construction professionals such as electricians and laborers.
• Demonstrating proficiency with cable installation tools, including tool belt, snips, and punch down tools.
• Adhering to all safety regulations and signing safety forms as needed.
• Providing network provisioning and virtualization services.
• Navigating physical demands of the role, including using ladders, working under desks, and pulling cables.
• Ensuring accurate network reporting and routing. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Cable Technician in the IT Hardware industry
• Proven skills in Broadband and Cable Installation
• Proficiency in Cable Television, CAT5, and CAT6
• Demonstrated expertise in Structured Cabling and Cable Assemblies
• Experience with Cable Modems and Coax Cable
• Familiarity with Internet Service Provider operations
• Proficiency in Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)
• Knowledge of Network Routing, Network Reporting, and Network Cabling
• Experience in Network Provisioning and Network Virtualization
• Proficiency in Copper Cabling and Ethernet Cabling
