Overview
The Vice President, Information Technology Infrastructure & Operations (VP IT I&O) is accountable for directing the personnel, vendors, systems, information and data integrity of the enterprise’s Information Technology Operations and Hosting Services for a mid-size Healthcare Product and Services organization. This includes the enterprise’s data centers, cloud services, support services, production scheduling, vendor oversight, enterprise telecommunication networks (voice and data), and systems operations. The VP of IT I&O is responsible for maintaining the integrity of all information systems and ensuring compliance to applicable standards such as SOC and HiTrust. This includes providing the strategic direction of all hosting and related services including service provider selection, workload provisioning, hardware and software for acquisition, and storage and retrieval. This position provides overall management and definition of all information platform and communication activities within the enterprise including systems performance, platform reliability, application observability and continuity/recovery services. The VP of IT I&O is responsible for providing leadership in the day to day operations of the enterprise Information Technology I & O functions. Actively partners with the COO, CTO and CISO on enterprise forward roadmap, projects, security initiatives, and day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities
Oversees the IT I&O strategy that supports and delivers best-in-class services and outcomes
Leads and manages a distributed team comprised of associates, contractors and multiple service providers across multiple data centers
Aligns the enterprise infrastructure, cloud services, products and applications with the organization's growth and ensures they are resilient, highly available, and positioned for scale
Creates the vision and strategy for hosting services and enterprise infrastructure in collaboration with multiple cross-functional leaders that aligns with business priorities and objectives
Prioritizes and monitors a portfolio of information technology projects to ensure successful non-disruptive outcomes
Envisions and leads the efforts around all IT infrastructure-related projects
Collaborates with the CISO for security and compliance related roadmap needs, ensuring security compliance and currency for all current IT infrastructure components
Oversees the technical execution and the scaling and building of enterprise infrastructure and operations
Collaborates with the CTO to support organizational direction in enterprise wide technology roadmaps while understanding, communicating and owning the impacts and changes to the technology stack and vendor support
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 5 years’ proven ability to design, document, and implement infrastructure solutions within specified time frames
Experience:
15 years' hands-on experience with IT infrastructure management and leadership
10 years' experience leading/mentoring leaders and team members and working with external partners and business units
10 years’ experience managing, delivering and/or negotiating large contracts with IT vendors including multiple service providers to support the Enterprises Information Technology resources
10 years’ experience with ITIL based operations
3 years’ experience managing service providers, costs, integration support models, customer needs/expectations
3 years’ experience with DevSecOps, Product Management concepts and digital operations capabilities
3 years’ experience with managing Enterprise, Services, Co-location data centers and operations
3 years’ experience with cloud based system implementations, integrations, troubleshooting and maintenance
3 years of experience with Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS) Infrastructure as Code methodology
Experience taking a product organization through cloud transformation
3 years of experience in Infrastructure as a Service and Infrastructure as a Code
3 years devsec ops automation
Required Training, Certification and Education:
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science or Information Science or related field
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience:
Proven ability to operationalize infrastructure implementations in a 24 x 7 support model
Excellent organizational, change management and project management abilities
Excellent problem solving/analytical skills and complex troubleshooting methods
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
3 years’ experience with managing Cloud based data centers and operations
