The System/Mechanical Engineer Intern will work with the Bio-Rad Boulder,
CO team. You will own a small project to improve continuum data metrics as
well as help with a number of execution tasks such as: troubleshooting and
repairing instruments, running performance testing, and writing test
protocols / reports.
How You Will Make an Impact:
You will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to develop mechanical
solutions that enable next-generation life science instruments.
Assist senior engineers in the evaluation of microfluidic instrument
assemblies through detailed analysis and lab experimentation
Assemble and test engineering prototypes alongside a diverse R&D team to
validate research and correlate mechanical models.
Perform root-cause investigations on systems and components to correct
problems and improve product quality and reliability.
Generate and release engineering documentation (part and assembly
drawings, installation instructions, test reports, etc.) to support
the development and manufacture of world-class life science instruments.
Ensure high work quality, and timely deliverables, and provide feedback to
managers on process improvements.
What You Bring:
You are currently enrolled as an undergraduate student pursuing a degree in
Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering.
You have a demonstrated application of mechanical principles and theories to
develop reliable, high-quality systems - machine shop and/or
electromechanical assembly experience a plus.
CAD experience, SolidWorks experience is preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills are required.
Able to work for a minimum of 10 consecutive weeks.
Strong initiative and ability to work independently and in teams.
Previous Sustainable Packaging or Sustainability experience a plus.

Compensation: The estimated hourly range for this position is $25 at the
time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time
of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly
