A Day in the Life

In this exciting role as a Test Engineer I, you will join a team of engineers working on the development of Medtronic Surgical Robotics Advanced Instrumentation products. You will focus on the testing of surgical instruments for the Medtronic Surgical Robotics Platform.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment.

  • Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements.

  • Supports test activities for medical device project requirements

  • Assists in the development and evaluation of minimal invasive surgery robotic instruments in coordination with the RD group

  • Provides planning and evaluation of medical devices to provide evidence for safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of the device

  • Responsible for planning executing tests, analyzing data, documenting results, and ensuring that all documentation passes quality review

  • Works on the development of test methods and evaluates test methods with Measurement System Analysis (MSA); performs statistical analysis including ANOVA, t-test, tolerance interval, normality test, and Gage RR.

  • Writes engineering reports that document test rationale, approach, results, statistical analysis, and conclusions

  • Utilizes Instron Material Testing Systems machine to perform product design verification and design validation testing

  • Provides for various Equipment qualification using IQ, OQ, and PQ

Must Have (Minimum Requirements)

To be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident on your resume .

  • Bachelors degree in Biomedical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering required with minimum of 0 years of experience

Nice to Have ( Preferred Qualifications )

  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail, with ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to build consensus and establish common goals.

  • Knowledge of surgical robotics
