Electrical Engineer for Prodac

Description

We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer or Technologist to be part of the Corporate Electrical Engineering Team based in Brampton, Ontario. This position will have a focus on the Manufacturing Execution System (MES), EMI (Enterprise Manufacturing Intelligence), nSCADA (Non-Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and Integration with ERP - Prodac System. The Prodac System is designed to collect production, sensor and QA data and provides tools to the users to analyze in decision making. This system provides production, sensor and QA reports for managers to report production speeds, efficiencies, downtime, and quality.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Provide support to numerous plants on the Prodac System to resolve issues and provide training.

  • Configuration of new Prodac applications including implementation, testing and commissioning. Modify existing applications as requested by operations group to provide reports and data required to increase operating efficiencies and reduce downtime.

  • Maintain users, permissions and privileges of all applications related to Prodac Configuration or Data Entry.

  • Modify Allen Bradley PLC and HMI applications to support data collection.

  • Configure Prodac applications to sort data, generate reports, analyze data, and set up user interface for data entry.

  • Work with Research and QC department to test new instruments for quality control and integrate to Prodac.

  • Work with IT, JDE, Reliability and Plants to integrate/maintain ERP with Prodac (MES) System

  • Work planning, scheduling, coordination and reporting.

  • Supporting, promoting and demonstrating IKO’s core values and leadership behaviours QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC and HMI programming.

  • Working Knowledge of Ethernet networks and network communication standards.

  • Working knowledge of SQL database and architecture.

  • Computer skills – AutoCAD, MS Project, Excel, Word, etc.

  • Organizational skills – able to manage projects with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent analytical, technical, problem-solving, research and teamwork skills.

  • Degree/diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.

  • Well versed in English. (written and verbal)

  • Must be willing and able to travel to sites across North America and Europe.

  • Experience of 3+ years preferred, but a recent graduate would be considered.
