Monument Chemical Pilot Plant Supervisor in Brandenburg, Kentucky

Monument Chemical in Brandenburg, KY is seeking candidates for a Pilot Plant Supervisor.

DUTIES

The Pilot Plant Supervisor will perform a wide variety of duties essential to the operation of the Pilot Plant. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Direct Supervision - Provide daily direct supervision of operating technicians in all aspects of Pilot Plant area activities (i.e. safety, schedule, equipment priorities, and manpower issues).
  • Collaboration- coordinate with Pilot Plant Manager, RandD and the plant at-large regarding general facility activities that impact the Pilot Plant.
  • Continuous Improvement - Interact with Pilot Plant Manager and Engineering for equipment upgrade/replacements, and new projects for continuous improvement.
  • Resource Management - Maintain area process equipment and facility in good operating condition by writing work orders, coordinating equipment availability for PM's and obtaining other resources as needed to support plan and area activities.
  • Environmental - Manage area generated wastes and obsolete materials while serving as interface with Environmental to ensure proper disposition. Maintain environmental awareness for Pilot plant employees to ensure all environmental requirements are met, ensuring all excess materials are disposed according to regulations, and conducting environmental inspections as required.
  • Quality - Support maintenance of ISO 9001:2015 certifications for the businesses by complying with standard processes, procedures and instructions for all activities in which this role participates.
  • Compliance- Knowledgeable and complies with all pertinent plant site safety policies, rules and regulations. Supports Pilot Plant PSM activities.
  • Training - Manages training activities for the Pilot Plant area employees: develop/maintain IPT materials, skills development, technician testing and certifications.
  • Administrative - Performs administrative duties (work schedules, timecard, proper shift documentation and reports, disciplinary actions, raw material and finished product inventories, etc.)
  • Talent Management - lead employees using a performance management process that provides an overall context and framework to encourage employee contribution and includes goal setting, feedback, and performance development planning. Each Employee Growth and Development review must align with site goals and support established metrics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five (5) years of related experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Good organizational and time management
  • Leadership and team management skill
  • Conveys information with clarity and directness
  • Demonstrated ability to trouble-shoot chemical processes and equipment issues.
  • Willingness to consistently take initiative to get things done
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new product chemistries and their corresponding chemical processes
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • SAP and Delta V knowledge preferred but not required
