Job Summary and Qualifications

The Manager, Payer & Financial Analytics is responsible for managing and organizing all existing analytical processes and needs across multiple business units for the company, including but not limited to the PCA Commercial contracting portfolio, the PCA Managed Government portfolio, the PCA Physician Services Group (PSG) portfolio, the Employer Broker Strategy (EBS) portfolio and PCA Behavioral health team; HCA’s participation in health insurance exchanges and other federal/state remedies for insurability. The Manager will also explore ways to gain efficiencies via process improvements and utilize thought leadership to implement beneficial strategic initiatives for the company.

The position requires a hands-on, tactical leader who will work closely with the team, customers, and corporate stakeholders. The Manager will be able to understand complex ideas and ensure the implementation with minimal disruption. The Manager will motivate others to perform all duties with a focus on quality, accuracy, and timeliness. The person in this role will have respect and use good judgment with access to highly confidential hospital financial metrics, including but not limited to volumes, revenues, contracted rates.

  • Responsible for department’s operational excellence by ensuring delivery of quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards

  • Develops and builds strategic internal and external networks

  • Develop & maintain analytical reporting related to PCA Pricing Initiatives as well as advise on strategy.

  • Provide Behavioral health service line specific reporting and analytical support for PCA Behavioral health team.

  • Provide analytical, financial, report development and advisory support associated with service line analysis, identifying and analyzing services lines potential to shift in sites of care and the impact on reimbursement.

  • Provide analytical, financial, and advisory support related to PCA’s Employer Broker Strategy (EBS) department

  • Identify areas for process improvement and consult with the necessary cross-functional teams for resolution

  • Prepare Contract Strategy Presentations to assist PCA negotiators with developing contracting strategies

  • Prepare and distribute Negotiation Support Packets with information related to pricing opportunities for facility and ASC, beneficial quality metrics, and relevant denial metrics

  • Coordinate with PCA on ad hoc financial requests as necessary

  • Manage multiple projects related to a wide variety of business settings and organizational needs

  • Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to define work requests and set delivery expectations

  • Present data or analytic findings in a variety of formats (reports, PPT, graphs, figures and tables)

  • Keep management advised on project progress, potential issues, obstacles, conflicts or challenges

  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested including ad-hoc analysis to determine methods to optimize pricing through market and pricing strategies

  • Perform other analytical support and operational duties as assigned by leadership to support department initiatives and priorities

Must Have:

  • 7+ Years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred)

  • Must have extensive PC skills including spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation applications

  • Results-oriented, ability to utilize and manage the organization’s resources to achieve results

  • Must have strong analytical, written, verbal, meeting facilitation and presentation skills

  • Experience developing Microsoft Power BI Applications

  • Strong commitment to accuracy and a high level of attention to detail

  • Minimum travel required

  • Ability to modify and/or create SQL queries and have an understanding of relational databases
