Honeybear Growers Food Safety and Quality Specialist in Brewster, Washington

Position Summary: The Food Safety and Quality Specialist will be responsible for supporting all food safety and quality assurance related activities for our company. They will promote and maintain a strong safety and health culture and drive program improvements toward 100% quality and compliance. They will report to the Food Safety Manager.

  • Be kind and offer solutions
  • Support/sustain new and current methods and procedures to drive improvements in safety and quality.
  • Ensure all legal requirements, company policies, and local/state health and safety regulations are met.
  • Support regulatory and company-defined food safety and quality systems, procedures, and practices for the warehouse.
  • Support processes and systems to achieve compliance on all internal and external audits (GOP, SQF, USDA, Organic, Ethical, OSHA and WAC, etc.).
  • Interact with regulatory agencies and 3rd party auditors.
  • Support and ensure all safety and quality trainings and protocols are being met in all departments.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ability to analyze safety and quality problems and strategize solutions.

Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of the organization including managers, employees, growers, and regulatory officials as needed. - Knowledge of 3^rd^ party food safety audit processes and daily compliance. - Knowledge of quality assurance processes. - Self-motivated and able to work independently.

*Education and Experience:

* Required*

  • Must be proficient with computer and appropriate software, including Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver's License

* *Preferred

  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred not required.
  • HACCP certified
  • 1 year experience in Food Safety
  • *1 year experience in Quality Assurance *

* Expected Hours of Work:* Core business hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. These workdays and hours may vary depending on production requirements.  Overtime hours may be needed at times to accommodate production requirements.  Employees must be present and be on time for work for each scheduled shift unless they have requested and received approval for time off.

* Physical Requirements:*

  • Constant exchange of information requiring both hearing and speaking
  • Constant clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less including use of computers.
