Fairfield University Administrative Assistant, Part-Time in Bridgeport, Connecticut

Job Description:

The part-time Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to the Bellarmine Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and the Bellarmine full-time and part-time Faculty members.

Essential Functions:

  • Organizing and maintaining files and databases in a confidential manner

  • Handling correspondence, managing calendars, assist with class assignments and room changes

  • Managing communications including emails and phone calls for the Associate Dean

  • Schedule appointments, meetings, and reservations as needed

  • Point of contact for Bellarmine full time and part time faculty members

  • Liaison to university offices including Registrar, Dean’s offices, & the Provost Office

  • Performs related duties and office projects as assigned by the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs

Qualifications for Administrative Assistant

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; an associate's degree in Business Administration preferred.

  • 2-3 years of clerical, secretarial, or office experience

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Comfortable with routinely shifting demands

  • High degree of attention to detail & follow through

  • Data entry experience

  • Working knowledge of general office equipment

  • Possess a working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

  • An understanding of Banner, Blackboard, Workday, CLSS, and other Fairfield University course registration tools is highly desirable

  • An appreciation for the Jesuit & Catholic mission of the university

Hours: Up to 19 hours per week
