DESCRIPTION OF WORK The primary responsibility in this position involves verifying the accuracy of test procedures according to Pennsylvania Test Method (PTM),  American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and American Society for Testing & Materials (ASTM) standards , as well as ensuring the precision of laboratory reports. Monitoring material shipments for compliance with specifications, overseeing tests in cement, asphalt, and aggregate plants, and documenting sampling and testing techniques are key tasks. Identifying issues, proposing solutions, and promptly reporting problems to supervisors are essential duties. Ensuring material suppliers adhere to testing methods for extraction, gradation, specific gravities, absorption, air content, slump test, unit weights, and wash tests is crucial, along with verifying compliance with quality control plans, maintaining documentation, preparing reports, collecting samples, and conducting District level quality assurance.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Vendor-controlled work hours Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, ad-hoc, at supervisor's discretion.. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Bridgeville. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Three years of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work;  or Three years of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience, which includes reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, or schematics; ; or One year as an Engineering Technician (commonwealth title); or Two years as a Transportation Technician or Construction Cost Technician 1 (commonwealth titles); or One year of construction inspection experience, and an associate's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements: This position requires possession of an active non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License or equivalent. Other Requirements:
