Job Summary

Provides oversight for projects construction within a portfolio including prioritization, scheduling, staffing, training and support, performance monitoring, issue management, maintenance of project management standards and communication.

Job Description

  • Provide oversight of assigned Supplemental Construction Managers (CM).

  • Verify all assigned supplemental staff and installation vendors are in-processed, briefed, and monitored I.A.W. Cook Nuclear Oversight of Contractors procedures.

  • Monitor assigned CM(s) to verify milestones during project preparation phases are met with quality I.A.W. the Cook Nuclear Projects Management User’s Guide and the Project Management Desktop Guides.

  • Responsible Contract Administrator for installation scope vendors I.A.W. Cook Nuclear contract development, execution, and administration procedures.

  • Reviews and approves vendor/supplemental staff invoices for assigned contracts/projects.

  • Reviews and approves vendor/supplemental staff timesheets for assigned contracts/projects.

  • Monitors CM performance observations for trends and quality and provides coaching to enhance performance.

  • Investigates, documents, and communicates any human performance events I.A.W. Cook Nuclear Human Performance procedures.

  • Documents conditions and performs corrective action assignments I.A.W. Cook Nuclear Condition Report Conduct and Closure procedures.

  • Qualifies as the department dose budge coordinator and ALARA subcommittee member completing the requirements of Cook Nuclear ALARA Program procedures.

  • Provide oversight of the Department Administrative staff.

MINIMUM REQIREMENTS FOR NUCLEAR PM:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related technical field

  • Or Associate's degree in Engineering, Business, or related technical field and a minimum of 2 years of project management, nuclear, utility, or related technical experience.

Work Experience:

  • 2 years of project management or other commercial nuclear power, utility or other technical related experience. Demonstrated ability in project management.

  • Special skills directly related to the area of the assigned project may be required, as necessary.

Required License(s)/Certification(s) are listed below:

  • Project Management Certification is desired.

MINIMUM REQIREMENTS FOR NUCLEAR PM, SR:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related technical field and 1-year relevant job experience, OR

  • Associate's degree in Engineering, Business, or related technical field and 3 years' relevant job experience, OR

  • High School diploma or GED and 5 years' relevant job experience.

Work Experience requirement listed below:

  • 5 years of project management or other commercial nuclear power, utility or other technical related experience with demonstrated ability in project management.

  • Special skills directly related to the area of the assigned project may be required, as necessary.

Required License(s)/Certification(s) are listed below:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required within 3 years of hire.

MINIMUM REQIREMENTS FOR NUCLEAR PM, PRINC:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related technical field and 4 years' relevant job experience, OR

  • Associate's degree in Engineering, Business, or related technical field and 6 years of relevant job experience, OR

  • High School diploma or GED and 8 years or relevant job experience.

Required License/Certification:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required within 3 years of hire.

Work Experience:

  • 8 years of project management or other commercial nuclear power, utility or other technical related experience with demonstrated ability in project management.

  • Special skills directly related to the area of the assigned project may be required, as necessary.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS (APPLIES TO ALL PM LEVELS):

  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise reports and make professional presentations to senior management.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, direct and motivate a diverse, matrixed team.

  • Essential functions of this job are the same for each level except the projects assigned would be less complex at lower level.

Physical Demands:

  • May perform walk downs in plant environment which may include exposure to heat, cold, noise, and radiation exposure. Perform duties that may involve work in hazardous areas and possible radiation exposure within the limits prescribed by the NRC.

  • Physical demand level is Sedentary.

Salary range is from minimum to mid-point.

Nuclear PM (SG 07): $83,413 - $104,268

Nuclear PM, Sr (SG 08): $94,225 - $122,419

Nuclear PM, Princ (SG 09): $110,656 - 143,853

Must establish & maintain a permanent residence within a 45-minute safe drive time to the D.C. Cook Nuclear Power Plant.
