As Electrical Engineer, you will be accountable for assigned activities in electrical engineering discipline. You will apply broad and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to project engineering and make decisions independently concerning problems within the discipline on the project.
Your responsibilities will include:
Evaluates, selects, and applies standard electrical engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria for a small size project or assignment in support of a global business unit or staff group to include the preparation of original designs layouts, details, drawings and specifications.
Designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates components and processes used in the generation, manipulation, transmission and storage of electricity utilizing relevant Procedures, design standards and guides.
Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals
Coordinates electrical engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction and other functional groups
Provides technical assistance to other electrical personnel and will interact with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues
Provides assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project electrical requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution
Mentors and assists more junior electrical team members
Completes electrical documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance
Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability
A recognized degree in electrical engineering discipline, from an accredited college or university.
Relevant work experience of minimum 7 years in FEED, proposal & detailed engineering preferably in an EPC industry for large industrial plants, power projects, utilities, oil and gas plants.
Have demonstrated experience in the Australian Mining and Metals industry.
Knowledge of electrical system studies using ETAP/EasyPower software and conversant with short circuit, load flow, motor starting & voltage drop calculations, main single line diagram, protection & metering diagrams, relay setting & protection coordination of the system, Emergency Diesel Generator Sizing, Underground cable sizing, Grounding.
Should have worked on equipment sizing, specifications, MR preparation, technical bid evaluation and vendor print reviews of various electrical equipment like Switchyard, Generator Step-Up Transformer, Busduct, MV & LV switchgear, MCCs, power & distribution transformers, DC systems / UPS, Cables, generator circuit breaker, bus duct, lighting fixtures.
Review of 3D Model in S3D and Autodesk Revit using SPR or Navisworks and be a stakeholder in 30%, 50% and 90% Model Reviews with Client, Vendor and Sub Contractors.
Preparation of three Line Diagrams & Logic Diagrams for Generator, Generator Step-up Transformer, Unit Auxiliary Transformer, Generator Circuit Breaker, Switchyard, Overall Single Line Diagrams.
Should be conversant with electrical layouts like raceways, lighting, grounding & lightning protection, Switchyard layouts etc.
