About the Opportunity

Nuclear Power Programmes are delivering client critical works to some of our major UK and European Projects. Our embedded teams are delivering support to Hinkley Point C (New build power station in the South West), Sizewell C (located in the South East), helping develop technologies in SMR (Small modular Reactor) capability and working towards building Poland's first Nuclear Power station.

Working in both client facing and internal roles we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We are driving to deliver safe, high quality and to time solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.

As a Commercial Manager, you will support the teams at Aztec West Business Park in relation to its commercial activities towards Nuclear New Build. In this role you will support contractual, financial, and commercial elements of the main Responsible Designer (RD) Contract for HPC. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing, coordinating, negotiating a portfolio of varied and complex contractual events from inception to implementation.

  • Developing and implementing commercial strategies to respond to emergent contractual topics and issues.

  • Providing commercial and contractual subject matter expertise to the Engineering teams, both in the UK and in France.

  • Producing, analysing and presenting financial, contractual, and commercial data to internal project teams as well as the client.

  • Coordinating with Change, Cost, Risk and Schedule teams to ensure coherent and consistent project progress.

  • Planning, preparing, and negotiating of offers as part of an offer team.

  • Implementing of all commercial and financial governance requirements.

  • At all times operating in accordance with the EPR-E Information Management System (IMS), rules and procedures to ensure that all contracts are administered within delegation of authority and the overall EPR-E governance/ assurance regime.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Effective commercial and contract management skills, with clear knowledge of best practice contract methodologies.

  • Good understanding of contract performance measurement, risk management and change and claim management.

  • Highly developed commercial skills and demonstrable ability to make sound decisions on matters of significant financial value.

  • Prior experience on the HPC Project.

  • Educated to degree level.

  • Track record with most common Forms of Contract (NEC & FIDIC) within the power construction industry and major projects; with knowledge of UK Law and its impact upon the contract and commercial function.

  • Member of the RICS / CICES / IOB or equivalent professional body.

  • Familiar with the nuclear site license conditions and the nuclear baseline philosophy with understanding of the UK regulatory framework.
