Job Summary

At GKN Aerospace, we’re shaping the future of aviation with cutting-edge technology and innovative manufacturing solutions. We are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Configuration Management to drive and implement key business improvements at our Filton site. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful introduction of critical process changes, working across multiple business functions and engaging directly with customers to achieve operational excellence.

How You'll Contribute

  • Implement and manage internal and external change requests, resolving system errors, and providing technical feedback to customers.

  • Lead complex projects/modifications from programme or customer approval through to production introduction and final delivery.

  • Develop and track change implementation plans, ensuring modifications are delivered on customer-agreed Points of Embodiment (POE), within scope, and within budget.

  • Manage customer expectations and stakeholder relationships, reporting and escalating setbacks as necessary.

  • Establish and maintain procedures, processes, and instructions for engineering activities to ensure compliance and efficiency.

  • Facilitate programme/change review boards to oversee and control the integration of new processes into the manufacturing business.

  • Provide clear and detailed reports to the MEM and ME Director, offering key insights on project progress and team expectations.

  • Perform additional duties as required to support the success of the team and business

What You'll Bring

Essential:

  • Aerospace Apprenticeship Qualified

  • HNC / HND in an Engineering Discipline

  • CM2 Qualified

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

  • Proficiency in SAP ERP tools

  • Strong PC literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Self-motivated and driven, with excellent organizational skills

  • Adaptability and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience working to strict deadlines in a high-pressure setting

Desirable:

  • BSc in Engineering
