Job Summary: The Registrar has the overall responsibility for the administration and management of the Office of the Registrar. The position reports to the Vice President for Enrollment Management and leads a team of 6 staff, and guides colleagues in the planning and delivery of services and programs related to student records, enrollment, degree audit, development of the schedule of classes, course and room scheduling, grade processing, transcript delivery, graduation, the integrity of student information data, and is the FERPA compliance officer for the institution. The Registrar collaborates closely across all divisions at the university, especially Academic Affairs and Enrollment Management units. The successful candidate will be eager to discover and apply student-focused cutting-edge technology solutions to achieve significant accomplishments in the fiscally challenging higher education environment. The Registrar will strive to help the University to reach enrollment goals.

The Registrar has the success of our students as its highest priority, not only during their periods of active enrollment, but with any further educational or career-related needs their futures may bring. The Registrar, in overseeing the Office of Registration and Records, is committed to ensuring that all office services are provided in the most timely and efficient manner possible, with exceptional service to students at the core of the role. The Registrar is expected to provide leadership in the Office of Registration and Records and to ensure high level of service to students, faculty, staff, and other users of services. In addition, the Registrar will strive to provide an atmosphere of mutual respect and inclusion for all of the employees, students, and guests.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university.

  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role in registration, advisement and/or an enrollment-related department.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in higher education.

  • Progressively responsible leadership experience at a college or university.

  • Experience in supervision of professional staff.

  • Demonstrated experience with diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.

  • Experience with developing, organizing, and administering budgets.

  • Strong personnel management skills including team development, strategic planning, the ability to manage multiple functions and organize institution resources to meet goals and objectives.

  • Excellent interpersonal, and communication skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of experience leading registration and records operations.

  • Experience as a university data custodian for student academic records with responsibility for setting and implementing appropriate planning, systems review, and policy-level standards.

  • Experience working collaboratively in the area of curricular and policy development at the college or university level.

  • Experience in evaluating, selecting, and implementing emerging technologies that support the processes within Registration & Records and/or enrollment areas.

  • Ability to foster an environment of exemplary professionalism and commitment among staff to build strong working relationships with other university departments.

  • Professional experience working in SUNY.

  • Experience with DegreeWorks, Slate, Banner, MS Teams, and/or other relevant technology.

  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, statutes, campus processes, and awareness of law and policy proposals affecting registration and student records.

    Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

    Salary and Benefits: The Minimum Salary for this position is $95,168.
