Accountant
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the Accountant is responsible for performing the following duties:
- Maintain and reconcile investment bank and unallocated general ledger accounts
- Maintain and reconcile certain balance sheet accounts
- Ensure Third Party E-payment worksheet is updated and reconciled
- Enter financial data into automated system and review data entered by other staff members
- Assist the Accounts receivable team with monthly batch review and posting
- Review periodic trial balances and other accounting reports as necessary
- Process cancellations for stale dated checks returned by the bank
- Prepare journal entries to record daily bank deposits
- Ad hoc projects/tasks as requested by management
Mandatory Skills/Experience:
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college
- Four years of satisfactory full-time professional Accounting/Auditing experience.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of accounting software, especially Sage 300 and Proficient in MS Excel and Word; experience with advanced functions in Excel is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
