Responsibilities Responsible to maintain all of PrairieCare's buildings and grounds. Performs facility maintenance duties on elictrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems that comply with the Department of Health, OSHA, NFPA, Joint Commission, and other regulatory agencies. Hours for this role are Monday - Friday with occasional weekends needed for special projects Compensation starts at $22.50 and up based on experience Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Provides general and detailed maintenance (either with direct or indirect supervision), including patching, painting, hardware repairs and other repair/replacement work as required. Performs routine facility and equipment maintenance. Performs routine daily inspections of assigned buildings and spaces. Dedicates some hours every week for assistance with general office work related to the work order system and the ordering of supplies and materials. Completes all documentation for work performed in a timely manner. Oversees and performs the duties associated with events, including executing the set-up plan in a timely manner, and breakdowns completed on schedule with spaces returned to normal state. Inspect, clean, and maintain mechanical equipment. Respond and address guest, staff, and patient repair requests. Communicate with housekeeping and security to resolve maintenance issues. Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen, and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machines. Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and all utility shut-offs for buildings. Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed. Communicate each day's activities and problems that occur to the other shifts. Display basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in the following categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and/or general building. Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement, and the complete and thorough cleanup of the painting or repair area. Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment, plumbing (e.g., plunge toilets and unclog drains), electrical components including lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, replace electrical switches and outlets, and other patient room items. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Valid driver's license required. At least two years of verifiable experience maintaining various building interior and exterior surfaces, including painted and papered walls, baseboards, tiled and carpeted floor surfaces, and brass and stainless-steel finishes required. 3+ years experience preferred. Experience with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment. Knowledge of and ability to follow all safety and security procedures. Sound judgment and decision-making skills, trustworthiness, basic customer service skills, and telephone etiquette. Knowledge of utilities, buildings, grounds, and basic construction practices. Knowledge of basic hand tools and power too s. Ability to work alone and with minimal supervision, and be able to perform repetitive work and maintain concentration. Knowledge of the Department of Health, OSHA, Life Safety, CMS and The Joint Commission requirements is preferred. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to prepare and interpret bar graphs. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals. Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situations of a routine nature. Ability to utilize common sense understanding to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions.
