Job Overview
The Senior Medial Assistant (MA) provides clinical support to patients and
assists care providers with clinical and administrative support.

Department Name: North Campus CCBD-Infusion
Job Status: Part-Time; 20 hours/week
Shift Details: Monday - Friday between 8am and 5pm - variable days
Qualifications
EDUCATION - High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an
accredited/certified Medical Assistant program.
EXPERIENCE - One year in a direct health care role.
CERTIFICATION(S) - BLS for Healthcare Providers / CPR and certification
as a Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, National
Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant
Responsibilities
POPULATION SPECIFIC CARE
a.) Neonate - 30 days to 1yr
c.) Toddlers - >1yr to 3yrs
d.) Pre-Schoolers - >3yrs to 5yrs
e.) School age - >5yrs to 13yrs
f.) Adolescent - >13yrs to 18yrs

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the
following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the
functions which the employee may be expected to perform.
Prepares patients for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying
them to the examining room; providing examination gowns and drapes;
arranging examining room instruments, supplies, and equipment. Conducts
quality checks.
Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and/or
recording medical history; taking vital signs; confirming purpose of visit
or treatment. Reports areas of concern to next care provider.
Supports patient care delivery by assisting health care providers during
examinations; preparing laboratory specimens; performing basic testing;
disposing of contaminated supplies; cleaning or preparing for sterilization
of medical instruments; administering medications per policy and
procedures; telephoning prescriptions to pharmacies and other duties within
sco
Anticipates and leads in balancing workloads and MA assignments and
maintaining patient/clinic flow by coordinating with providers and clinic
team.
Provides phlebotomy and advanced specimen processing (i.e., centrifuge,
Meditech) when indicated.
Completes lab test follow up and medical record documentation.
Prepares and completes medical record for visit by recording patient
information, treatment, and test results. Assists with patient
"MyChart" enrollment.
Participates in the standardized education of patients through written
instructions and answering questions as directed by provider.
Cross trains to multiple specialties/sub-specialties for front and back
office (where applicable).
