Azure Compute Platform team is the core foundation for Azure Cloud. This team is solving planetary scale problems through breakthrough innovations in distributed systems and cloud native security. The capabilities built by this team are leveraged by all customer workloads on Azure cloud.
The Compute Platform team builds Azure services for Virtual Machines Scale Sets (Virtual Machines Scale Sets (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/compute/virtualmachinescalesets) ) and Containers (Containers (https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/services/container-instances/#overview) ). We are experiencing tremendous growth in enterprise customer traffic, global footprint and hardware diversity. We have exciting opportunities to grow the capabilities like security and scale of Compute platform by orders of magnitude. In the past one year, we have increased scale of Azure Compute by 30x serving multi-billion Transactions Per Second (TPS) per week. We are an agile team with a modern codebase (with Windows/Linux and Containerized micro-services) and frequent release cycles. The engineers have opportunity to do deep distributed systems development while also being able to influence scenarios and work with Fortune 500 customers.

Responsibilities
Manages a team of engineers, their career growth and business impact.
Guides partnership with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project manager, technical lead) to determine user requirements within and across teams.
Guides teams and leads identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.
Optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).
Guides team to drive multiple group's project plans, release plans, and work items in coordination with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers).
Leads product development and scaling to customer requirements and applies best practices for meeting scaling needs and performance expectations and holds accountability for products that do not meet expectations.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline
Technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR equivalent experience.
Previous experience managing a team of engineers.
