The job:
The Director, Project Management will play a key role in driving our ambitious projects across Europe, Americas, and Asia Pacific. This position is important as it directly impacts our strategic and financial critical metrics through the flawless management of business-critical initiatives. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in leading complex projects, ensuring seamless integration, and encouraging collaboration across multiple collaborators. This role is vital in achieving our goal of offering outstanding shared services.
This role is office-based at our Budapest, Hungary site, with the flexibility to work from home 2 days per week. As the role will collaborate with multiple global time zones, you must be willing to be flexible with your working hours (open to discussion, but suggested schedule: 2 days per week 7am start; 1 day per week 9am start; 2 days per week 12pm start etc.). In addition, regular international travel will be required – up to 40-50% of working time including overnight stays (on average, one week long trip every two months).
What will you do?
Drive strategic alignment on projects portfolio and support the projects prioritization process
Determine resource allocation efficiently across projects
Promote a culture of continuous improvement in project and portfolio management practices
Manage and control project and portfolio budgets
Lead and mentor project managers and other team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment
Work with the business development, GPO (Global Process Owners) and PPI (process improvements) teams during the projects' lifecycle
Engage with subject matter experts to define a project plan, identifying internal resource needs and mapping interdependencies
Develop program documentation and governance materials such as work breakdown structure and schedule. Implement robust governance through a multi-function program organization and steering committee, including a strong voice of the customer
Present program achievement updates to the program steering committee, ensuring high-quality deliverables at each major program achievement. Document decisions and actions, and provide progress reports on their implementation
Identify program risks and opportunities, measure their potential impact against project objectives, and use critical metrics to determine appropriate mitigation actions
Work with a change manager to identify employee groups impacted by the program in both service provider and customer organizations. Implement the change management plan as part of the overall program plan, ensuring effective communication
Who we are looking for:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, preferably in a business-related field, finance, economics or Engineering
Proficiency in the English language (verbal and written); Hungarian a plus, but not essential
Solid experience in a shared services environment, with experience in Finance operations (OTC, PTP, FA, Inventory), Customer Service and/or Procurement
Strong understanding and ability to apply Project, Program and Portfolio Management Principles
Demonstrated experience in leading large-scale transformation projects in a highly complex, geographically dispersed environment
Demonstrated success in building collaborative partner relationships with a diverse group of collaborators
Outstanding ability to identify and solve complex problems
Ability to operate independently and lead through ambiguity and change, and capable of balancing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Ability to deal with highly sensitive information in line with confidentiality expectations
Project Management certification highly desirable (PMP, Prince2, Agile Product Owner, Agile Scrum Master, etc)
Willing and able to be flexible with your working hours in order to work with various international time zones
Willing and able to travel internationally up to 50% of working time, including overnight stays
