Morgan Stanley Finance Auditor, Associate in Budapest, Hungary

Internal Audit is responsible for assessing whether the firm operates in a controlled way with appropriate risk-management processes. Auditors evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the firm's internal controls using a risk-based methodology developed from professional auditing standards. Internal Audit assists in monitoring the firm's compliance with internal guidelines as well as external rules and regulations governing the industry. Internal Audit is comprised of Business, Risk and Technology auditors. Business and Risk auditors focus on evaluating the risks that the businesses face and the controls to mitigate those risks, while Technology auditors focus on the application controls supporting the business processes. Both groups are responsible for evaluating, analysing and testing the controls to protect the franchise.

In the Audit division, we provide senior management an objective and independent assessment of the Firm's internal control environment for risk management and governance.

What you'll do in the role: o Perform all phases of the audit, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting o Assist audit supervisor in audit assurance planning by identifying and evaluating key risks o Plan and conduct walk-through meetings for finance processes in scope of an audit o Identify significant controls and assesses adequacy of their design and operating effectiveness o Document results and conclusions of audit assurance activities o Communicate audit findings to supervisors o Assist in formulating and negotiating the audit findings with auditees Continuous Monitoring and Risk Assessment o Participate in the continuous monitoring of Finance activities o Maintain ongoing communication and develop solid working relationship with stakeholders o Perform risk assessment of key business processes to drive risk-based audit plan o Track and verify remediation efforts taken by clients to implement recommended processes and controls to strengthen internal control frameworks o Contribute to strategic initiatives and projects to enhance audit approach and coverage

What you'll bring to the role:

oMaster's or Bachelor's Degree (major in Finance or Accounting is preferred) o 3-5 years' experience in a similar field (Finance, Accounting, Auditing) o ACCA, CA, CPA, CFA or equivalent certification (advantage) o Understanding of internal audit processes (advantage) o Strong verbal and written communication skills o Confident command of English o Ability to rapidly learn and apply new processes and methods o Ability to multi-task between several projects and complete projects within required timeline o Team player with ability to work independently in a fast-paced multicultural environment o Ability to resolve challenging issues with innovative ideas o Keen attention to detail and strong analytical skills o General understanding of financial services industry and the related regulatory environment o Familiarity with banking and capital markets products o Familiarity with Basel regulations, ideally US, UK and EU implementations, including Liquidity and/or Capital requirement framework (Advantage) o Outstanding work ethics, living the firm's core values
