The role of the Coordinator, Logistics is to be the hands-on primary point of contact between New Era Cap and our third-party distribution partners. This role is responsible for supporting the seamless transition of inbound and outbound transportation between New Era Cap, the 3PL distribution network, freight forwarders, and end customers. This position’s primary role is to oversee, monitor, support, and report on daily logistics activity within multiple facilities and proactively engage all necessary parties to ensure on-time customer deliveries (2 million units per month). This is a temporary position with an opportunity to go full-time/permanent.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with internal departments (Distribution, Customer Relations, and Planning) and external partners to support logistics processes; review orders, inbound & outbound \ transactions, resolve routing issues, proactively communicate delays and recommend/trouble shoot alternate solutions
Track global inbound shipments to ensure timely delivery to final destination and make real-time decisions to prioritize adjustments to the shipment as needed
Manage, organize and support all LTL (Less Than Truck Load), FTL (Full Truck Load), Intermodal, Air and Ocean (international and domestic) freight into the appropriate NA distribution networks
Work through issues related to inbound scheduling, carrier issues, delivery appointments, etc. proactively communicate delays and recommend/trouble shoot alternate solutions
Complete, analyze and send inbound reports to NA distribution centers used for labor/staffing projections to ensure 3PLs have adequate labor to process the shipments
Manage and maintain the commercial documents for international shipping from NA distribution network
Update customer routings in SAP and accurately communicate to carriers and forwarders (based on customer specific requirements)
Proactively conduct route-cause analysis with all third part logistics partners of service level exceptions for customer orders
Research customer shortages and obtain documents of delivery, develop corrective action plan and process to eliminate future occurrences
Keep all sensitive matters confidential

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong computer skills; Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to learn and utilize new systems
Ability to establish relationships and interact with various levels within the organization

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally

Working knowledge of SAP preferred

Knowledge of shipping processes required
Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 lbs
Education and Experience
One (1) to Three (3) years of experience in in logistics operations required
Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related field required; Relevant job experience in lieu of degree will be considered
Customer Service or Operations Management experience preferred
Demonstrated advanced level Excel required

The salary range for this posted position is $20.00 - $23.00 per hour and pertains to candidates located in Western New York. Actual compensation is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
