Summary/Objective

*The Aquaculture Technician will demonstrate a passion for fish
husbandry, a good work ethic, attention to detail and will perform a
variety of aquaculture husbandry duties to include daily farm chores
including feeding, mortality removal, screen scrubbing and driving fish
truck to and from processing plant. Daily duties also include grading
and sorting fish, loading fish into trucks and driving loads between
farm facilities.
Essential Functions
- Responsibilities include removing and recording mortalities,
feeding, sorting and grading fish.

1. Monitor fish behavior and bring any abnormalities to supervisors
attention.

3. Load and unload fish at farms and processing plant.

4. Assist with fish transfers.

5. Perform routine maintenance on equipment and systems. Routine
cleaning including sweeping raceways, cleaning and repairing graders
and equipment on farms.

1. Assist with population management, fish sampling, and research
projects as needed.

7. Work with hatchery staff to coordinate movement and work in hatchery
as needed.

1. Sort fish according to specification while paying close attention to
detail and always working towards continual improvement.

1. Always work to produce products people can trust by recognizing poor
quality and communicating with management.

1. Complete all tasks including based on required safety guidelines.

1. Maintain appropriate housekeeping and sanitation procedures on the
farm ensuring proper protocol and required biosecurity measures are
followed.

12. Provide prompt, friendly and courteous service to internal and
external customers.

13. Continually pursue sustainability of our natural resources with
every decision, decreasing waste and being conscious of individual

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in an outdoor environment. This role is routinely
exposed to inclement weather conditions.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that
must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential
functions of this job.
This is physically demanding job requiring the ability to regularly lift
50 pounds. Alternately walking and sitting for long periods of time is
required. The ability to bend, squat, kneel, step, reach, lift, push,
pull, see, hear and talk are required.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, 5 days a week, which could include
Saturdays or Sundays, 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Travel
Local travel is required.
Required Education and Experience
- The ability to speak, read, understand and follow directions with or
without reasonable accommodations is required.
- High school Education or GED required.
- Drivers license and good driving record required.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Aquaculture experience preferred.
- Aquaculture or related degree preferred.
