Join us for an opportunity to be part of the Content, Education and Inclusion (CEI) team at Disney Branded Television (DBT). DBT oversees animated and live-action content for preschoolers, kids, tweens, and families across our linear and streaming platforms. On the education side, the team ensures our Disney Junior content is developmentally appropriate for preschoolers, whereas for inclusion we support the advancement of diverse stories, talent, and perspectives for all DBT content.
A Day in the Life…
The CEI team seeks a self-motivated candidate who has an interest in learning and contributing to the creative production pipeline from a child development and inclusion perspective.
Here’s some of what you can expect in this internship with the CEI team:
Support the team with our storybook program, which collects qualitative feedback from preschoolers for our Disney Junior shows in production
Read and provide script coverage for select shows
Assist in building and updating CEI presentations, documents, and workflows
Curate industry research and content to help inform our work
Shadow executives at relevant meetings
Support team with education and inclusion initiatives and events
Attend company-wide events and connect with our partners to learn more about their role and responsibilities
What we are looking for…
Knowledge and interest in Disney Junior and DBT content
Analytical reading and critical thinking
Strong writing, verbal, and organizational skills
Kindness, empathy, flexibility, and collaboration
Passion to learn and innovate
Interest in children’s media, working with kids, and/or community advocacy
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
(Preferred Qualifications)
- Prior experience working in or with non-profit organizations, community organizations, or student organizations
Preferred Education:
- Pursuing a Bachelors or Masters in Child Development, Education, Psychology, Film & Media
Additional Details:
Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
Must possess unrestricted work authorization
Program length -- The approximate dates of this internship are January 2024 through June 2024
Work details -- Must be able to work full time hours (approximately 40 per week) Monday through Friday 9am to 6pm PT for the duration of the internship
Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session
Housing -- Must provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Burbank, CA area
Transportation -- Must have reliable transportation to/from work
