Overview

The Manager of Forecasting will play a pivotal role in driving the company’s forecasting processes, overseeing both the weekly and monthly forecasts, including Profit & Loss (P&L) and high-level Cash Flow. In this capacity, the Manager will lead, develop, and mentor a team of two financial analysts while providing valuable support to the Director of FP&A. Utilizing planning software, Adaptive, and advanced Excel models, the Manager will work closely with various departments to ensure accuracy and drive improvements in the forecasting process. This position is crucial in evaluating expenses and maintaining the Finance department's weekly P&L, monthly forecasts, and fiscal plans. With regular collaboration across all levels of the organization, the Manager of Forecasting will directly contribute to the company’s overall financial success and growth.

A Day In The Life:

  • Take full ownership of monthly and weekly forecasts, including system maintenance, P&L reporting, and ensuring data accuracy/completeness.

  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve forecasting processes.

  • Review monthly forecast decks and ask detailed questions to understand changes and their impact on the overall P&L.

  • Manage, develop, and mentor two financial analysts.

  • Review and challenge the analysts' work, offering guidance to expand their skill sets.

  • Ensure analysts are given challenging tasks that contribute to their professional growth and department knowledge.

  • Present a month and year-to-date view of variances to forecast and budget by corporate/store/warehouse to accounting and business support monthly.

  • Ensure correct allocations and track variances to budget.

  • Maintain the monthly performance bonus forecast and prepare the annual budget.

  • Work with Inventory Control and Merchandising Teams to understand margin components and the drivers of weekly forecast changes.

  • Conduct ad-hoc strategic analysis, gathering data to send to the CFO for the quarterly Board Deck.

  • Maintain a high-level quarterly Cash Flow Forecasting model to review with Investor Relations.

  • Prepare various ad-hoc analyses as needed for the Director and VP.

You'll Come With:

  • 5-7 years of progressive financial planning and analysis experience.

  • MBA and/or CPA preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • Retail experience is preferred.

  • Strong ability to build and analyze financial statements.

  • Skilled in financial analysis, identifying trends, and communicating results.

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced proficiency in Excel.

  • Experience creating and maintaining complex financial models.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and intellectual curiosity for identifying the drivers behind financial changes.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
