Martin Marietta is looking for applicants for Asphalt Quality Control Technicians. This position offers the opportunity to work with your hands and get outdoors. Candidates with experience are preferred, but if you are willing to learn, we are willing to teach! This position is seasonal, and the starting pay rate is $22.50/hour with benefits depending on qualifications. Compensation is negotiable for candidates with previous quality control experience. Essential Functions * Sampling and testing of Asphalt mixtures as well as aggregate products. * Analyzing test data and record and report results. * Calibrate, clean, and maintain production tools and testing equipment. * Understanding the process of keeping materials in specification. * Communicating with production staff and direct supervisor. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to feel, or handle objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, bend, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time seasonal position that regularly requires long hours, regularly exceeding 40+ hours per week. Night and weekend work is a possibility. Overtime and night work shift differentials apply. This job will require travel to multiple sites. There will be times when outside assignments may require periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet, or dry.
